Here are the ten WORST fantasy baseball players of the week. The criteria here is that someone had to start them in one of the 4 leagues I am in.
10. Derek Lee 1B CHC: He just hasn't had a breakout week yet. When he was traded to Chicago, I think many people (including myself) had him high on the NL firstbasemen list and probably everyone had him on the "Breakout year" list. It hasn't happened yet, but I wouldn't give up on him. 4-21, 2 R, 4 1B, 6 KO, BB
9. Brian Jordan OF TEX: There is a guy in one of my leageus who EVERY year picks injury-prone players and gets mad when they actually get injured. I can never understand, how someone could draft a guy like Brian Jordan 9Or Larry Walker) and then get pissed because they miss so much time. There is a reason they are injury plagued! Injured or not Brian Jordan is over the hill and starting to show it. 0-9, 2 KO, 2 BB 0
8. Carlos Pena 1B DET: He started off well, hot even. Know he has simmered down and this week he really stunk it up worse. 8 strikeouts in 17 official at-bats is not a ood ratio. Chalk it up to good pitching. Carlos still has nice upside. 2-17, 2 1B, 8 KO, BB, SB, CS
7. Terry Adams "Closer" TOR: Yeah, he did get a save this week, but he also blew a save and took a loss. Toronot has been one of the most disappointing teams this year. There bullpen is awful and they couldn't hit their way out of a paper bag. 2 ER, S, 3 HA, BBI, BS, 2.0 INN, 2 K, L -.5
6. Hip Hop (Hee Seop) Choi 1B FLA: Josh Beckett calls him "Hip Hop" so I am going to call him "Hip Hop". Whatever you call him, it was a bad week. 0-12, 8 KO, 4 BB
5. Kerry Wood P CHC: 2 ER, 3 HA, BBI, 2.0 INN, 2 K, L: I can't be too down on Kerry, but he let me down big time this week. I just hope he is not hurt. He is a strikeout machine and a workhorse.
4. Kaz Ishii P LA : Does he understanf the strike zone in America yet? Balls are BAD! This guy makes so many people walk, I thnk next game he is goijng to wear a patch over his eye. Like a priate....walk the plank? No, it doesn't work....whatever, he sucks. 2 ER, HA, 7 BBI, 4.0 INN, 2 K, L: Does he understanf the strike zone in America yet? Balls are BAD! This guy makes so many people walk,
3. Al Leiter P NYM: Chris "Mad Dog" Russo came on the air last year and told the world (or at least anyone listening in New York) that Leiter was shot. Leiter has been a real baby about it ever since. Russo and he used to be good friends off the air, Russo even took him to a Springsteen concert. But now Al won't even talk to him. Ya know what? Russo was right, Leiter is shot. 5 ER, 3 HA, 5 BBI, 4.0 INN, 2 K, L
2. Byun Yun Kim P BOS: This guy makes the rest of the clubhouse look like the Brady Bunch in Boston, which is tought to do with all the crybabies they have up there. He refuses to pitch out of the bullpen and when he starts he is awful. The best memory of this guy for me is when he gave up home runs to the Yankees that lost them games 4 and 6 at teh Stadium. 4 ER, 5 HA, 3 BBI, 3.1 INN, L -5.17
1. James Baldwin P NYM 10 ER, 13 HA, 5 BBI, 6.0 INN, K, 2 L -10.5 and Victor Zambrano P TB 6 ER, 4 HA, 7 BBI, 1.1 INN, K, L : This one is a tie. They guys are equally bad. However, if I had to cast a vote, James Baldwin would get mine. Anyone who started him this week is just stupid.
